Mata Jai Kaur Public School celebrated its Teacher’s Day on 5 September 2024 to pay a tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s legacy and acknowledge the dedication and hard work of the teachers. The programme commenced with the rendition of the pious shabad. This was followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting ceremony. The lamp was lit by the school Principal, Mr. Sandeep Singh Kathuria, the Headmistress, Ms. Anuradha Babbar and the teachers. The students presented an enchanting Guru Vandana as a mark of their gratitude towards their teachers. An entertaining segment, ‘Teachers’ FM – a radio show’ was presented by the young Jai Kaurians. Principal Sir and Headmistress Ma’am were invited on the stage to answer questions, connected to their journey as students and educators.
This was followed by the presentation of a beautiful cultural programme by the enthusiastic students. The programme commenced with the presentation of a medley of classical dance styles and a mesmerizing musical jugalbandi where diverse styles of instrumental music, both traditional and modern were played by the talented students. In the second musical segment called ‘Percussion’, the students presented a melodious performance to the tunes of the different instruments. This was followed by an energetic dance performance that celebrated the cultural heritage of the nation. A short video put together by the students served as a heartfelt tribute to their teachers.
The Principal appreciated the efforts of the students in planning and executing the programme. He commended the tireless efforts of the teachers and encouraged them to keep acting as thoughtful facilitators, motivating the students at each step of the way. The programme ended with a vote of thanks which was delivered by the Head Girl of the school.
