Mata Jai Kaur Public School organised it’s Annual Inter-School Event, ‘Expressions 2k25’ on 25 July 2025. The theme of the event was ‘Timeless Wisdom, Boundless Innovation’. Inspired by the art of ‘Kintsugi’, the Japanese practice of mending broken pottery with gold, the event this year celebrated how age-old wisdom can illuminate the path to innovation. The event encouraged the students to explore how ancient values and cultural heritage can shape future solutions. Each competition was meticulously planned and motivated the students to think creatively by going beyond the boundaries of academics, leading to their holistic development.
The participants demonstrated their talent and skills by participating in a diverse array of competitions like Ancient Beliefs Through Scientific Lens, Echoes of Eternity, Threaded Thoughts, Canvas Re-imagined, Cyber Flimflam, Maths Blitz, Tiny Taps and many more. Over 600 students from 35 prestigious schools of Delhi participated in 17 different competitions, fostering an atmosphere of creativity and collaboration. The entire event was orchestrated and executed by the students, under the guidance of the teachers.
The event commenced with an opening ceremony. After the melodious rendition of the pious shabad and the ceremonial lamp lighting, the school Principal, Mr Sandeep Singh Kathuria addressed the gathering. He emphasized on the importance of participating and learning from the experience. He encouraged the students to treat each failure as an opportunity to try again by putting their best foot forward. The students offered benediction to Lord Ganesha through ‘Shubharambh’ – a dance performance.
The Guest of the Honour for the event was Ms. Maneesha Sharma an alumna of the batch of 1997. She is a TEDx speaker and director at the federation for futuristic and sustainable skills. During her time as Deputy Director at CII, she led impactful initiatives in disaster management, inclusion and women empowerment. Her presence at the event encouraged the students.
The Special Guest for the day was Mr. Manav Gawri, an alumnus of the batch of 1997. He is a distinguished entrepreneur in the bridal fashion industry, known for blending traditional grace with contemporary elegance. His presence made the day even more memorable. Ms Rasna Singh Ji, the Vice Chairperson of the school motivated the students to do their best by her inspiring presence.
The alumni of the school were invited to judge the competitions. They interacted with the participants and shared their valuable insights with them further strengthening the school’s culture of mentorship. The overall winner for the event was Jaspal Kaur Public School. The winners of all the events were congratulated and their efforts were commended in the closing ceremony which marked the culmination of the day. The event ended on an optimistic note and proved to be a fruitful and an enriching learning experience for all the participants.
