






Mata Jai Kaur Public School celebrated its Annual Day with grandeur and splendour on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Themed “Antarjyoti – The Light Within,” the event was a radiant celebration of self-discovery, creativity, and collective brilliance. It beautifully encapsulated the idea that true illumination begins from within and radiates outward to touch the world.
The distinguished guests gracing the occasion included Ms. Gauri Diwakar, an eminent classical dancer, as the Chief Guest; Dr. Prachi Gaba, MJKPS alumna, as the Guest of Honour; and Mr. Prashant Narang, Chartered Accountant and Finance Analyst, as the Second Guest of Honour, along with Chairman Sir and Vice Chairperson.
The day commenced with an impressive exhibition, showcasing the intellectual and creative pursuits of students across all departments. The displays—ranging from models and charts to digital presentations and live demonstrations—reflected the theme ‘ Edufest- Innovate and Illuminate’s’ essence. Each department’s central exhibit the theme through thought-provoking concepts that highlighted the fusion of knowledge, art, and innovation. The Mathematics and Commerce corner captivated visitors with its futuristic approach, while the Art Gallery dazzled with its vibrant portrayals of inner light and human emotions. The Primary Wing too contributed significantly with their lively and heartwarming assembly, earning accolades from guests and parents alike.
The cultural programme was a mesmerizing showcase of talent, with a huge number of students performing with remarkable passion and precision. The event commenced with a soulful Shabad, invoking divine blessings for an auspicious beginning. In his welcome address, Principal Mr. Sandeep Singh Kathuria extended heartfelt gratitude to parents and teachers for their continuous support and collaboration, which made the celebration possible amidst the demanding academic schedule.
The Annual Report was presented by the School Head Girl and Head Boy outlining the institution’s academic excellence, achievements, and initiatives undertaken during the year. The dignitaries felicitated academic achievers of Classes X and XII, as well as students excelling in co-curricular and cultural fields, in an inspiring Awards Ceremony that culminated with the digital release of the annual e-magazine, Sterling.
The English play “The Light Within” by the Middle Wing, a powerful performance that emphasized the importance of self-awareness, empathy, and moral strength in today’s world. The Punjabi Skit highlighted the universal virtue of helping each other and devoting one to the service of mankind. The grand finale, titled “Antarjyoti – The Light Within,” was a visually stunning Hindi dance drama depicting the eternal struggle between darkness and enlightenment. Through graceful choreography, evocative narration, and vibrant music, the performance conveyed that the journey toward light begins with recognizing one’s inner strength, compassion, and truth.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Gauri Diwakar, lauded the students for their enthralling performances and applauded the school’s efforts in integrating art with education, calling it “a true reflection of holistic learning.” Guest of Honour, Dr. Prachi Gaba, expressed her joy at returning to her alma mater and praised the school’s continued dedication to nurturing confident, compassionate learners. Mr. Prashant Narang, the Guest of Honour, appreciated the thematic depth and organization of the event, commending the students for balancing academics and creative pursuits so gracefully.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Headmistress Ms. Anuradha Babbar, who expressed deep appreciation for the collective efforts of the management, faculty, students, and parents in making the Annual Day a resounding success.
