Special Assembly – Baisakhi

Our School conducted a special assembly on the occasion of Baisakhi. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm as it is not only a festival of harvest, but also marks the beginning of the Sikh New Year. The day acquired historic and spiritual significance when on this day in 1699, the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh established the Khalsa Panth – the collective name given to Sikhs who have been baptised.
The program began with the recitation of the pious Shabad followed by a short skit and a poem recitation. The students depicted the meaning and the essence of the festival through the skit. The poem encapsulated the essence of bravery, selflessness and compassion, particularly in the context of Baisakhi. It beautifully portrayed the virtues exemplified by the community through its actions and sacrifices. The students also sang a song to celebrate the joyful spirit of the festival.
The entire program celebrated the essence of Baisakhi highlighting its core values of courage, compassion and selflessness.
